Since you haven't actually submitted anything to IANA, you should probably use
application/vnd.corninstead ofapplication/corn, since having an unprefixed MIME type puts strict requirements on the type of standard being listed, or widespread use, neither of which seem to apply here.The

You can also just apply directly to get vnd.corn listed from what I'm aware; I believe that just linking the repo is enough.
